ATHLETICS-Martin Toroitich makes his fourth appearance in the sports San Blas International Half-Marathon. The event due in Puerto Rico on Saturday, has attracted leading long distance runners and will give Toroitich a chance to prove himself. He is a brother to Commonwealth 10000m champion Boniface Kiprop.

Ekemu Cup
SOCCER-Eighteen teams in Soroti district are participating in the on going Ekemu Cup. The competition kicked off January 7 with four games.

Kato vibrant
SOCCER-Sula Kato netted twice as Fimbo fc humbled Method Boys 3-0 at the second weekend of the UJL J-Super League on Sunday. Kato put Fimbo, named after striker Andrew ‘Fimbo’ Mukasa, in the lead on 15 minutes at UJL Park in Nsambya. He doubled five minutes and Gaddafi Kiwanuka sealed the victory in the U-15 competitions with six minutes left. But Fimbo’s triumph was shortlived after their 2-0 and 1-0 losses to Makindye and UJL respectively in the U-9 ties.

Refs. Course
RUGBY-The Uganda Rugby Union has postponed a three-day refresher course for referees to February 17. The clinic that was to be conducted last weekend lacked the necessary resources and funding forcing the union to postpone it.
