SPIRITS were high in the Uganda Kobs’ camp yesterday following the arrivals of foreign-based stars Geoffrey Massa and Hassan Wasswa.

For the first time, the U-23 youth side enjoyed full house two hour training.

Egypt-based forward Massa and defender Wasswa, who turns out for Ethiopian side St. George, defied fatigue to join a Kobs side that has steadily improved in speed, tactical discipline and one-on-one situations.

The El Shams striker Massa, later taunted Kobs’ Olympics qualifier opponents South Africa that when it gets to quality, Kobs are in a league of their own.

“When you have players like Nsumba (Augustine), and Bongole (Anthony) around, you have to be positive,” Massa said.

Coach Laszlo Csaba gave an indication of where he intends to play his versatile foreign-based duo.

Massa exhibited a good game, running off defenders and finishing, while Wasswa commanded the back superbly.

“We are a better team now,” Csaba, who names his 17-man team after training today, stressed.

The team departs for South Africa tomorrow.
