MAINTAINING a business requires patience. This is how it has been for former deputy premier Dr. Eric Adriko in his West Nile Distilling Company in Arua.

After his old factory in Arua was recently burnt by unknown people, Dr. Adriko opened a new factory in Kosovo, Lungujja last Saturday. The factory will make Adriko Gin, Sunshine Natural mineral water and glucose.

The opening ceremony was presided over by transport state minister Simon Ejua.

Dr. Adriko, who is also the executive chairman, said: “The theme of the day is thanksgiving to God for helping us to overcome the big problems we faced since the beginning of this company. It is also thanksgiving day to staff and all those who helped us to succeed in a hostile market place.”

Dedicated staff members and customers from across the country were given prizes and awarded certificates. The prizes included bicycles and cash.

The function also involved the launching of two Adriko products — Hunters Gin, which was launched by Adriko Group deputy chairman Moses Adriko, Dr Eric Adriko’s son, and Sunshine Natural mineral water launched by Sunshine Beverage Company managing director Julie Adriko.

The colourful ceremony was punctuated with performances from the Wat Mon of Naguru who did the Acholi dance.
