MOROTO
The UPDF is to impound all unbranded animals in Karamoja region to check cattle rustling, the 3rd division commander, Col. Patrick Nkiriho, has warned. In meetings with elders, Nkiriho revealed that each district and county had a special brand and mark. He advised residents to take their animals to army detachments or veterinary officials for branding. Nkiriho threatened that the army would round up all animals whose brands were tempered with.

Water wells for Kyenjojo
KYENJOJO
Trekking long distances in search for water is no more for Kasaba sub-county women and children. Fort Portal diocese recently built 12 shallow wells, 16 ordinary springs and 12 improved springs in its effort to provide safe and clean water. The diocese, under its promotion of proper health and sanitation, constructed the water sources in the villages of Mparo, Kasaba A, muzirandururu and Nyaruzigati. The project will be opened by the end of the month by Bishop Robert Muhirwa.

Cops shot dead Iganga man
IGANGA
The Police shot dead a man on the streets of Iganga on Wednesday after he attemp-ted to disarm a Police officer. The district Police chief, christopher Kweri, said Musa Mugoya “broke loose and fought the three armed policemen as they escorted him to Iganga Police Station.”
