DORCUS Inzikuru continued her build-up to the World Cross-Country Championship by winning the Italian club cross-country in Modena on Sunday.

The national cross-country champion, who is also the World and Commonwealth 3000m steeplechase champion, took it easy until the last stretch of the two-lap race, where she sprinted to victory in style.

“She is building up momentum and such races will help her prepare for the Mombasa event (due March 24),” said her country manager Flavio Pasqualato.

Inzikuru is expected to join other long-distance stars in camp next week.

Meanwhile, Raymond Diogo clocked an impressive 22 minutes 3 seconds in the Hy-Tek’s meet in the US to finish 32nd. Reuben Twijukye, also racing in America, finished fifth in the Tyson Invitational after clocking 1:50.37 in the 800m event.
