EXCITEMENT filled the air on Monday as employees of Commercial Micro Finance (CMF) donated clothes to children of Kyanja orphanage. An orphanage is a place where children whose parents died are taken care of.

Kyanja orphanage, located in Wakiso district, looks after 1,000 orphans. The orphanage provides the children with education, food and clothes. Orphans need help because they depend on good Samaritans to take care of them.

A non governmental organisation, Action for Children, runs Kyanja orphanage.

CMF’s Patience Mbabazi and Barbara Mulumba led the group of employees who spent the day playing with the children.

The children are aged between two and 14 years. Most of them lost their parents to AIDS.

The children entertained the guests with songs and dances.

Unfortunately, some children did not know what was going on and kept on crying throughout the day. The guests saddened by these children, comforted each child who cried.

“We bought clothes as employees of CMF bank to give to these orphans. It’s our social duty to give back to the society,” Mbabazi said.
