ANDREW Oryada stayed on course to retain his Chairman’s Cup badminton title, while three-time winner Christine Byarugaba was ejected in the table tennis semi-finals Thursday night.

Oryada faced a tough fight before dispensing off Robert Kabindi 2-1 in the first badminton semi-final. He was due to know his final opponent as Abraham Wogute and Simon Mugabi were due to clash in the second semi-final. Oryada beat Mugabi in last year’s final.

The table tennis showdown saw three time champion Christine Byarugaba stopped by the Chairman Cup’s best women performer last year, Kate Kabenge, in the semi-finals.

The tennis, football and swimming action is due today, before the crowning of the top performers in the evening.
