HEAD coach Gordon Ahimbisibwe has predicted a podium finish for Uganda at the World Cross Country championships.

“They are all fit. They have responded very well to training,” Ahimbisibwe said as he finalised preparations for the Mombasa athletics meet due March 24.

“ We are training them to challenge the traditional countries and I am confident they will do it,” said Ahimbisibwe.

“ We want them to start running as a team. It is only running as a team that will help us excel,” he added at his base in the Kapchorwa highlands.

Uganda has won junior team bronze medals in four of the last five years.
