BISHOP Mathias Sekamanya of Lugazi Diocese has urged the best schools in the recently released O’Level results not to look at weaker ones as rivals. Instead, they should complement each other and improve their performances.

This was contained in a speech read by Monsignor Samuel Kayondo, the Lugazi Diocese vicar-general, during celebrations for St. Joseph Nagalama’s best performance, in the O’level results.
“For example, I want to see St. Joseph, Nagalama helping Kabimbiri SSS. I will be glad to hear that they topped in Mukono,” he said.

A total of 145 out of 149 students passed in division one. The rest passed in Division two.

Agnes Nsubuga, the headmistress, said there was an increase in the number of candidates in 2006 compared to 2005.
She also hailed teachers for the school’s excellent performance.

“All our teachers are married, but they always came at 6:00am and left at 10:00pm,” she said.

Nsubuga promised even better performance in 2007, saying: “We want 100% first grades this year.”
