UGANDAN passports are being sold to drug dealers in Iran, the Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura, has said.

He could, however, not tell how many passports had been sold and at what cost.

It was also not clear whether the passports were genuine or not. A racket, which acquires them through impersonation, sells them to Iran heroin smugglers, according to Kayihura.

He was informed of the vice by the Iranian Police during his recent tour there. Several drug traffickers from Asia have been arrested at Entebbe Airport.
