Firms to be blacklisted
ARUA-The district technical planning committee is to blacklist contractors and individuals who do shoddy work. Among them are firms, which were cited in defrauding communities which accessed the Northern Uganda Social Action Fund (NUSAF). The move followed findings by the NUSAF projects monitoring committee that some managers transferred the money for the fund onto their personal accounts.
100 households get iron sheets
LIRA-About 100 households in Aloi sub-county each received 30 pieces of iron sheets for resettlement on Friday. The resident district commissioner, Joan Pacoto, who is heading the resettlement exercise, handed over the items to the beneficiaries who left internally displaced people’s camps and returned to their villages. Pacoto explained that 120 households in Otuke county had been verified to benefit from the next consignment.
