THE Uganda Cricket Association is yet to name the national team manager, seven weeks to their crucial tour of Australia.

The new Kibuuka Musoke executive threw out former team manager Richard Mwami in a massive reshuffle that also accounted for selectors’ committee chairman Robert Kisubi.

Uganda is set to feature at the International Cricket Council Division Three World Cricket League in Darwin, Australia May 27 – June 2.

According to sources in the association, the top executive members are battling to take the team-leader position on the Australia tour.

“Both the chairman and the treasurer are interested but the entire executive will have to sit and decide on who is suitable,” the source explained. The association treasurer is Tony Kiwagama .

Meanwhile, uncertainty looms over the availability of a number of players who were named on the final squad on Wednesday.

Richard Okia, Charles Waiswa and Arthur Kyobe are yet to get permission to leave from their employers.

Joel Olweny and Patrick Ochan are yet to confirm their arrival dates from South Africa, where they are having semi-professional stints with Lanesia CC.

Former coach Henry Okecho threw in the towel leaving cricket icon Sam Walusimbi and Andrew Meya on the job.

Eight teams will take part in the event where two will be elevated to Division 2.
