AFTER six successful years in Argentina, Cranes captain Ibrahim Sekagya is optimistic that the next football season will find him at a top club in Europe.

“I hope to be in Europe next season. I have established myself in Argentina and the time has come for me to be known in World football,” Sekagya disclosed in an interview with BBC on Monday.

Sekagya turns out for Argentina soccer giants Arsenal de Sarandi and told BBC of the language problems he faced as he struggled to learn Spanish.

“Fans in Argentina are fantastic. It is difficult for me at times to move along the streets. They look to me as a super star but I never ever want to be carried by that,” Sekagya remarked.

The former State House and KCC defender, who moved to Argentina in 2000, is the only African player in the Argentina top-flight soccer league.
