THE underground drainage system in Kampala city will be overhauled, a Ministry of Works and Transport official said.
Spokesperson Susan Kataike said the ministry was working with Kampala City Council to repair the system.
This comes amid complaints that the drainage system was not repaired during the current major road repairs.
Contacted yesterday, an official with Stirling Engineering, one of the contractors, argued that many of the underground drainage culverts were blocked by silt. He said the culverts were installed 10 years ago and needed cleaning or replacement.
