EAC approves $28m budget

ARUSHA-THE East African Community (EAC) council of ministers has approved a $28,313,559 budget for the 2007/2008 financial year.
The council said in a statement last week that the budget was revised from the earlier budget which was adopted in last November. “The council revised and approved additional $7.2m as a result of proposed remuneration of the East African Legislative Assembly members and the East African Court of Justice Judges and admission of Rwanda and Burundi,” said the statement. The total budget to be contributed by the three partner sates of Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania will total $22,184,399. Each partner state will contribute $4,296,531. Developing partners are also expected to make their contributions, the statement added.


dfcu Bank goes to Gulu

GULU-dfcu Bank is to open a branch in Gulu to serve the Acholi sub-region.
