GEORGE Otika has warned super league title contenders SC Villa to ‘expect the unexpected’ in today’s revenge showdown at the recreation ground.

Otika, and a host of his Masaka LC teammates, are yet to recover from the pain of their boardroom defeat to the 16-time league champions in the first round.

The upcountry club had their league points against Villa on February 28 awarded to the Blues following their late arrival for the ill-fated match.

“It was unfair on our part. We weren’t given a chance to explain why we arrived late. That game hurt us. We will fight hard to recover those points,” Masaka coach/player Otika stressed yesterday.

The two sides played out a pulsating 1-1 draw at the recreation grounds last season.

Villa could close in to within eight points of leaders URA FC with a win at a stadium where the home side has only lost twice this season.

Of the day’s fixtures, none will however generate as much passion as the ‘battle of armed forces’ involving Police and army side Simba at Nakivubo.

The rivalry between the two sides has intensified in recent years with either side determined to outstrip the other of top status in the forces.

“We are the giants. We have a league title and good results to support that fact,” Police captain David Yiga pointed.

Yiga was however fast to add: “Games between us are always tough. They have beaten URA and that is a powerful statement.”

Meanwhile, at nakivubo yesterday, City Lads’ substitute Faisal Umari’s last minute equaliser cancelled Yuda Mugalu’s strike for Victors early in the second half.
