UGANDA has asked international sports press body AIPS to spread out training opportunities to all members world-wide. Local sports press president Douglas Mazune urged AIPS to bring the courses to the members rather than transport them to one point, which is very expensive.

Mazune advised the ongoing AIPS congress in Bregenz, Austria, that it would be better if they sent instructors to particular countries to handle the sports journalists in their respective countries.

He argued that the money delegates would spend on transport for the refresher course would be enough to fund the courses in the respective countries.

Uganda is represented by Mazune and USPA secretary Ahmed Hussein. Their trip was sponsored by uganda telecom.
Meanwhile, AIPS general secretary Charles Camenzuli has resigned.

Camenzuli resigned because he felt that as a member of the previous executive, he was obliged to resign. The old executive had accountability problems.
