Women in Rwanyamahembe have petitioned their MP, Emma Boona, over the conduct of Police officers who handle defilement cases. They told Boona during her visit last week that when their children are defiled, the Police demands money in form of facilitation to apprehend the culprits. The claimed that they are also asked to pay sh30,000 for medical examination in addition to airtime and transport.

RUKUNGIRI
The Grade One Magistrates’ court presided over by Lillian Bucyana on Wednesday sentenced Jackline Kabarungi, the parish councillor for Ndorero in Kagunga sub-county, to three years in prison for stealing a cow. Bucyana said there was enough evidence that Kabarungi unlawfully sold a cow belonging to her husband, Herbert Mugisha.
