THE national basketball league concluded its first round over the weekend after a number of shocks and thrills. UCU Canons proved indomitable after finishing the round undefeated in nine matches.

THE national basketball league concluded its first round over the weekend after a number of shocks and thrills. UCU Canons proved indomitable after finishing the round undefeated in nine matches.
They claimed pole position on the division I table after accumulating 18 points ahead of second placed Mogas Falcons, who collected 15 in the same outings.
Defending champions Nkumba-Marines had to overcome hard-fighting Miracle on Saturday for a fifth slot finish on the table.
Making a debut in the big boys’ league, MUK-Heaters pulled off thrilling defeats over Nkumba-Marines and Sadolin Power to keep their post season play active.
In the women’s league, KCC Leopards maintained a clean sheet to complete the first round unbeaten in ten games.
