Murder suspect denied bail
KAMPALA - The High Court has refused to grant bail to Baker Walusimbi alias Kaweesa who was last year charged with the murder of three girls in the city. Walusimbi was arrested in January 2006 following a joint operation by the Police and the Violent Crime Crack Unit to solve mysterious murders in the city in which the killer would rape and rob his female victims. He allegedly killed Noreen Nabaale, a Senior Six student of Makerere College School, Jacqueline Najjombwe and Maria Katasi, both residents of Najjanankumbi. But Walusimbi has denied the charges. Justice Margaret Oumo Oguli rejected Walusimbi's bail application arguing that he had two other pending charges of robbery.
