AUGUSTINE Nsumba has promised to pull all the necessary stops to help his new side IBV FC secure the Iceland league championship this season.

The diminutive former SC Villa attacking player officially became an IBV player last week after the local 16-time league champions accepted the Iceland giants’ 15,000 Euros (sh30m) transfer fee and he agreed personal terms on a three-year deal.

Nsumba, who will earn US$1300 (sh2m) per month, leaves for Iceland today optimistic of becoming a revelation in the Iceland league in his debut season.

“Of course the cold weather will affect me at the start but I will first prove my worth to them and then try to help them win the championship.”

The 20-year-old becomes the second Ugandan and former Villa player at IBV after Cranes defender Andy Mwesigwa.

Nsumba, who has spent five seasons at Villa Park, was at the focal point of everything excellent about the Jogoos in their three previous trophy-less seasons.

He bid farewell to a club that helped him secure two league titles.
“Villa fans and officials were exceptional. I thank them for transforming me into the player I am.”
