“WHY should some areas in the city be no-go areas? Why should people’s vehicles be broken into? Why should people be mugged in the city? We may take these as ordinary crimes yet they are linked to al-quaeda, ADF or Kony. The police must get rid of these fellows,” Inspector General of Police, Maj Gen Kale Kayihura, about increasing crime in Kampala.

“What is personal between me and Nyakaana? If there was, I would have sent police after him. Appointing a probe means I want him to have a fair hearing. I do not run this ministry like my personal kibanja,” local government minister Maj Genl Kahinda Otafiire, about the ongoing probe on the activities of Kampala Central Division.

In South Korea everybody is working in the country. It is only United Nations Secretary Ki-Moon who is working outside. But the Filipinos are all over,” President Yoweri Museveni advising Ugandans to be patriotic, during an NRM retreat at Kyankwanzi.

“Politicians have business interests in the city and all the battles you see are related to those interests,” Former Kampala Central Division Chairman Francis Babu, while appearing at the KCC probe committee last week.
