ORGANISERS of the national basketball league will not wait for the incessant promises from ‘sponsors’ MTN for their package. The second round starts at Lugogo today.

The second half starts with Sadolin Power taking on Mogas Falcons, Warriors facing Knight Riders and women champions Lady Bucks returning against KIU Rangers.

Debutantes UCU Canons have maintained a clean sheet and MUK Heaters and Knight Riders registering shock defeats over Power and Rhinos respectively. Canons are top of the 10-team first division table on 18 points.

The Canons’ performance has been more fascinating with each game played and the question still remains as to whether any team can come up to challenge them.

Defending champions Nkumba-Marines, not only started the league on a disappointing note, but completed the first round on a downward slope.

The Marines, who completed their first round in fifth place, will have to work doubly hard if they nurse any ambitions of defending their title.
