The public service ministry wants a payroll system that will be used for all public enterprises, a website has shown.

The ministry therefore, wants to pre-qualify potential suppliers of an Integrated Personnel and Payroll System (IPPS), the South African website, www.ahi.co.za, added.

Companies will be pre-qualified for the supply, installation, implementation and commissioning of the IPPS.

“The assignment will involve the above services through training and provision of preventive and remedial maintenance of a computerised IPPS based on a turnkey approach,” it added.

“It will consist of the acquisition of a multi-user IPPS package with appropriate hardware, supportive software including operating systems, databases, and network and communication accessories,” the website explained.

Implementation of the payroll system would be carried out in five phases starting with a pilot phase.

The system is expected to eventually cover all government entities and local governments.

Invitations to bid are expected in October.

Further information can be obtained from the ministry’s Procurement and Disposal Unit on the ground floor at Nakasero, Kampala.

Pre-qualification documents cost sh200,000.

Completed documents should reach the ministry’s Procurement and Disposal Unit by August 31.
