Pastor ordered off wetland

RUKUNGIRI-The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has given Pastor Elisa Kakwerere of Rukungiri Community Church, 21 days to relocate his church and restore the wetlands in Nyakibale, on which he encroached. An August 7 letter from the executive director of NEMA, Aryamanya Mugisha, directed Kakwerere to stop all illegal activities on the wetlands and demolish the structures. But Kakwerere denied any wrongdoing, saying the town council approved his building plan.


Orombi raps gay support

KABALE-Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi has reiterated his stand against homosexuality, saying the Church will not accept any assistance from people who support the vice. Addressing Christians of Nyabirerema Archdeaconry on Wednesday, Orombi advised religious leaders to be self-reliant and not be tempted by funds from American and European churches that support homosexuality and lesbianism.


Kabale cops transferred
