THOUGH some people call Bushenyi a model district, it lacks some vital services.
Sheema North MP Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye said Bushenyi district hospitals do not have X-ray machines.
He said patients move from the district to Mbarara to look for X-ray services.
The MP said, “Most of the HIV/AIDS patients die of tuberculosis because they cannot get some drugs before getting screened.”
He was on Thursday addressing a delegation of US Congressmen on the foreign relations committee at Clinker social centre in Kabwohe town council.
Congressman Christopher Smith led the delegation that toured some homes in the district where the integrated Community Based Services, a local NGO, carries out home-based testing and counselling.
Present was Bishop William Magambo of West Ankole.
