MARGARET Najjuma, 23, has only one reason why she has chosen to sing local gospel music instead of joining the secular music bandwagon. Najjuma says she wants to use her talent to serve God.

“My talent is a gift from God and I should use it to serve Him,” says Najjuma, the budding gospel crooner.

Najjuma’s Omutambuze album, which was produced from Pastor George Okudi’s Music Dynasty studios, is loaded with six tracks including Yobu (Job), Nakuwerezanga (I’ll always serve you), Mugume (be firm), Okwasooka Nayita (the first time I passed) and Tulina Katonda (we have God).

The title track Omutambuze, together with Yobu and Nakuwerezanga Mukama are already rotating on some Christian radio stations.

Najjuma got it right when she chose Omutambuze as the title track. Its catchy beats will put you into dance moods and the lyrics are message-driven.

Omutambuze warns people to take care of themselves on their journey to heaven. The singer encourages us to believe in God in whatever we do.

Najjuma, a journalism student at the Institute of Business and Media Studies in Lubaga draws inspiration from gospel crooner Gloria Nambi. “Gloria is the only person who has encouraged me to stick on in the music industry,” says Najjuma.
She also performed during Nambi’s album launch last month.

Najjuma’s album will be launched on March 3 at Rest Gardens in Bweyogerere.
