UPC presidential candidate Miria Kalule Obote on Saturday criticised the Government for closing the Kasese-Kampala railway line.
She told a rally in Kamwenge town that President Museveni’s government “closed your railway deliberately to make you poor so that they keep you stuck on empty promises. It is a tactic to rule you forever.”

Refugees get
REFUGEES at Kyangwali refugee camp in Hoima district, who were amputated due to landmines and gunshots, on Saturday received 31 wheelchairs worth about sh5.6m from a US-based charity organisation, Outreach to Africa.

Beef plan
KABALE local government is to construct two slaughter centres in Muhanga and Katuna trading centres this financial year to promote agriculture and ensure safety for beef consumers, district veterinary officer Dr. Bafumbe Kabachiraho said last week.
