THE Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) will save Ugandans from eating fish bones, party presidential candidate Miria Obote said on Thursday.

“If you vote us into power you will eat fresh fish and not bones,” Miria said at a rally in Luweero.

Mama Miria, who was on her third round of campaigns in the district, was overwhelmed by the big turn-up in Wobulenzi and Luweero towns.

She held short rallies, saying she was time- barred. “I would have wanted to talk about many things, but I am caught up by time,” she said.

A man in Luweero town had asked her whether she would save Ugandans from eating fish bones if elected into power.

“When you vote us into power, you will eat whole fish,” she told the crowd from the top of her open-roof vehicle.

Miria said people never used to eat fish bones during the UPC reign because it cared for the welfare of the people, unlike the NRM.

She said when elected, she will fight unemployment among the youth by constructing factories.

She also promised to construct hospitals which will be equipped with drugs and well paid medical personnel.

She said UPC constructed hospitals countrywide which were run down by the NRM.

“We cared for the health of our people that is why we constructed hospitals. But now they are dilapidated with no drugs or doctors due to neglect,” she said.
She said UPC would end the northern war.
