We wish you a peaceful election

SIR – Having worked in and visited Uganda since 1989, I cannot tell you how impressed I have been with the peaceful development of the country.

SIR – Having worked in and visited Uganda since 1989, I cannot tell you how impressed I have been with the peaceful development of the country. The drive from Entebbe to Kampala is indicative of progress when a country is peaceful – businesses sprouting and so many people busy at work. Today’s elections remind me of a conversation between a very senior businessman in Ghana who was approached to support Jerry Rawlings in his last election. He stated, “I will support you – for the last time”. The elections are here and I pray for them to be peaceful. To the opposition, your time may not be today but for the good of Uganda and the future of the people, prepare for the next election now with understanding and maturity.
