27 arrested KAMPALA — Twenty-seven people were arrested last week in connection with electoral malpractices in the city, the Police have said. The malpractices included campaigning at polling stations and trying to vote twice, Kampala Extra Police chief Benson Oyo Nyeko said on Tuesday.

Man charged KAMPALA — A 40-year-old shamba boy is in court to answer to allegations that he raped a seven-year-old girl. Moses Komuhanda reportedly sneaked into the child’s room while everybody in the house was asleep and penetrated the victim’s private parts.

Teachers’ pay KAMPALA — Mayoral candidate Peter Sematimba has pledged to improve the welfare of teachers and students in the City Council schools. “We are going to work out solutions to the problems affecting teachers in KCC schools because teachers are the pillars on which our children depend,” he said. He said teachers’ and students’ well-being should be proritised.
