BUSINESS came to a standstill on Monday at Mucwa administrative offices in Fort Portal Municipality when the Police used teargas and rubber bullets to disperse over 150 rioting students of St. Leo’s School, Kyegobe, reports Emmanuel Kajubu.

The students were rioting over a football ban that had been imposed on them following indiscipline in last year’s Coca-Cola cup finals with Nyakasura Secondary School.

The final at Buhinga Grounds were won by Nyakasura School but Kyegobe disputed the results and confiscated the trophy.

When the ban was announced, the students marched to Mucwa to seek audience with district education officer Victoria Busingye.

District Police commander Musana Munene said the students had not informed the Police about the demonstration.
