STATE minister for general duties Prof. Mondo Kagonyera has decried the poor conditions of patients at Mulago Cancer Institute and asked the Government to take action before the situation gets out of hand.

Kagonyera, who visited the institute last week, described the conditions as “unacceptable and overwhelming”.

Kagonyera was speaking at a funeral service of Canon Enoch mbahungirehe at St. Andrews Church, Bukoto.
Mbahungirehe was the first ordained canon in Nyakisoroza Church of Uganda, Kabale district.

Commissioner for Prisons Dr. Johnson Byabashaija described the late Mbahungirehe as an intellectual and a principled man who served his country diligently.
