REIGNING Africa Rally champion, Muna Singh of Zambia said yesterday the third round of the ARC event due in Uganda in April will be a matter of life and death for him.

In an interview with The New Vision in Nairobi, Singh said his debacles in Toit rally of Tanzania in February and the Kenya Commercial Bank Safari rally in Nairobi last weekend were shocking, but warned his detractors not to rule him out of contention yet.

“I need 10 points in Alpha Pearl of Uganda Rally April 21-23 and at least eight in the rally of South Africa on May 26-28, then we shall be back in business. Otherwise we shall pack our bags and return to Lusaka for other business,” he said.

To show his seriousness for the Uganda event, the African champion said he will parade a state-of-the art machine to counter threats from his rivals Riyaz Kurji, Emma Katto, Patrick Emontspool and Azar Anwar.

“I am getting a new Subaru Impreza, either N10 or N11. This is the only remedy to redeem my reputation which had fizzled after the two rounds of the events,” he said.

Singh said his undoing started when he donated his rally car to his brother to paricipate in Zambia and Zaimbabwe rallies.
