THE third edition of Peacock Masaza Cup has been designed to emulate the British format where two cups would be competed for concurrently.

Organisers and the Buganda Prime Minister, Dan Muliika brushed shoulders at the launch at Bulange, and pointed at Police FC striker, Mike Serumaga who was spotted from Mawokota, and now on professional trials in Sweden. Over 40 other players were absorbed into the super league.

Event secretary, Charles Masembe, also FUFA CEO, announced that the new format was intended to promote talent and heighten competition among the 18 Masaza teams.

Kick off has been set for May 13 when Bulemeezi hosts Singo, a match to be graced by the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.

The tournament is sponsored by paint manufacturers, Peacock Paints, UTODA and Buganda’s CBS radio.
