MOST people who turned up for the beauty pageant had mistaken it for Miss Makerere University. It never was. It was rather Miss Makerere, the village where the university is situated.

Yet this was not their only disappointment. Some of the artistes like Buchaman who had been lined up for performances at the pageant didn’t show up. Instead, lesser-known artistes were drifted in to fill the gap. But like any other beauty pageant, Miss Makerere, which was held at T-Cozy pub on Easter Monday managed to pull a normal crowd.

When the six contestants eventually did the catwalk, it was another disappointment. Most of them looked like waitresses from nearby pubs.

Unfortunately for the winner, Sarah Nsirense, who claimed to be Kenyan and her two runners up, there were no prizes given out on spot. According to the MC, the undisclosed prizes would be given out later.
