UBC unveils 64 match World Cup plan

UGANDA Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) yesterday unveiled a programme for the live telecast of all 64 World Cup matches.

UGANDA Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) yesterday unveiled a programme for the live telecast of all 64 World Cup matches.

UBC acting managing director Edgar Tabaro announced the package at a press briefing at Sheraton Hotel.

“We have embarked on a massive assessment of the technical facilities to make sure that everything is okay before kickoff,” Tabaro explained.

All our transmitters countrywide will have new standby generators installed by May 30.”

Soccer’s biggest competition will be held from June 9 to July 9 in Germany.

UTV is working in partnership with SMS Media to bring the World Cup.
The two firms have planned a win and predict promotion where various prizes will be up for grabs at every game.

Thirty-two teams will take part in the event with Africa being represented by Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Angola, Ghana and Togo.
Former holders Germany will set the event rolling against Costa Rica at the Olympic stadium in Munich.
