Kiprop gets utl bounty for Melbourne gold

BONIFACE Kiprop’s gold medal success at the Commonwealth Games has earned him a $1000 (sh1.8m) reward from uganda telecom.

BONIFACE Kiprop’s gold medal success at the Commonwealth Games has earned him a $1000 (sh1.8m) reward from uganda telecom.

The telecommunications firm also gave the runner, who excelled in the 10000m final, a fully connected Nokia mobile telephone and sh0.5m worth of airtime.

The function was held at the firm’s offices in Kampala on Thursday.
Kiprop also received an assortment of uganda telecom branded items.

The firm had earlier rewarded Dorcus Inzikuru who grabbed a 3000m steeplechase gold at the Games with cash and a Nokia phone.

Martin Mubiru, a flyweight bronze medalist at the Games held in Melbourne in March, also got cash and a Nokia phone connected to the utl network.
