Prevention against HIV and other illnesses is a human right to all Ugandans and not a privilege to only a few in society, the president Society of Women and AIDS in Africa Dr. Margaret Muganwa has said.

Prevention against HIV and other illnesses is a human right to all Ugandans and not a privilege to only a few in society, the president Society of Women and AIDS in Africa Dr. Margaret Muganwa has said.
Flavia Nakagwa reports that Muganwa said unless further infections against illnesses like HIV/AIDS were prevented, the battle against the scourge would be hard to win.
She said the highest infections were found among married women and young women in stable relationships and this had to be prevented.
While speaking yesterday during the first annual general meeting for the Action Group for Health, Human Rights and HIV/AIDS at Uganda Manufactures Association conference hall, Muganwa said the right to health had to be prioritised.
She said women still did not have any options in order to protect themselves from contracting HIV because the female condom was almost non-existent, while male condoms were dominant.
