A MAN believed to be behind the gruesome assault of his former girlfriend using a hammer and a knife at a lodge in Ntinda last month has been arrested.

The Police yesterday identified the man as Dan Bamwine,40, who reportedly lured Prossy Nantaba to Kubirima-Ree lodge, where he doused her with chloroform before inflicting multiple injuries on her face, leaving her for dead.

The attack was well documented in Bukedde, a local daily, with disturbing pictures of Nantaba’s injuries.

Regional Police commander Grace turyagumanawe paraded Bamwine before journalists at the Central Police Station. He said, “If you do anything wrong, the Police will catch up with you.”
