The Government has earmarked sh405m for education of disabled children in the 2006/7 financial year, the policy research officer Uganda Child Rights NGO Network (UCRNN) has said. Xavier Ejoyi said this at a training workshop for media practioners at Hotel Equatorial on Monday. The one-day workshop, organised by UCRNN, targeted media practioners on coverage of children’s rights.

DP hails

The Democratic Party (DP) has hailed the Minister of Finance, Ezra Suruma, for hiking taxes on second hand vehicles and clothes. DP secretary general Prof. Ebil Ottoo yesterday said the tax would reduce dumping of second hand vehicles in Uganda. He was addressing journalists at Kabusu, a city suburb.
