Nkumba University on Thursday swore in Deborah Asasira, its first female Guild President with a cabinet of 25. Asasira, who is also vice-president Uganda National Students’ Association, urged the administration to install a solar panel in the halls of residence to use when there is loadshedding.

RUKUNGIRI: Council lists
The town council has listed 57 structures to be demolished because they were put up illegally. Addressing journalists on Friday, town clerk Aggrey Muramira said some of the people affected were prominent businessmen and politicians, who have two weeks to raze the structures or have them demolished by the council.

IGANGA: Man arrested
Security operatives on Thursday arrested Nelson Twesigye suspected to have been collecting money from people allegedly posing as a Bonna Bagagawale credit provider. Twesigye was paraded before the press at the security office.
