MTN Public Relations Officer Tina Byaruhanga yesterday revealed that the cash prize will go up to sh0.5m starting with tomorrow’s quarterfinals games.

“In addition to the sh0.5m, we will add sh50 for every valid sms that is sent in to the pool to be shared,” explained Byaruhanga on the promotion that sees all correct predictions share out the total cash through airtime loaded directly to their phones.

The predictions involve MTN subscribers typing in the first letters of the teams in action and the expected match results and then sending them to either 197 or 198 in order to enter the draw.

Over 20,000 customers have already won themselves airtime, with the best amount being that which was shared after the Switzerland – Ukraine match played on June 26. Fourteen lucky customers, who predicted a 3-0 in favour of Ukraine, shared out airtime worth sh0.44m.

“The prizes will increase at every stage. We want to share the passion and interest with our customers in the premier soccer event,” she assured soccer fans.
