ZK enters
ZK Advertising International, a communications agency has signed a non-exclusive affiliation agreement with TBWA Worldwide.
“What this means for ZK and TBWA is primarily an improvement in the service quality to our respective client base.  TBWA has a large global network and ZK has a large pan-African network,” said Brenda Mawenu, the ZK Uganda public relations manager.

Crane jackpot
Alfred Olama has won the sh1m jackpot in the Crane Bank and Sanyu FM World Cup promotion.
Aldrine Nsubuga, the bank’s marketing manager and Sanyu’s brand and promotions manager, Lysandra Chen, conducted the draw where over 30 people participated. The competition dubbed World Cup Cash begun at the onset of the World Cup early on June 9.

URA row ends
THE Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and Malaba town council have agreed to share the revenue collected from Malaba customs yard. A reconciliation meeting convened by the local government state minister, Hope Mwesigye, resolved that the two authorities share the money on a 50% basis.
URA’s Patrick Mukiibi and the mayor Alfred Obore, said URA would pay sh208m to the council to cover July 2006 to February 2007 when M/S Multiplex management contract expires.

Africana opens
PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni is scheduled to open the $6m (about sh11.8b) Hotel Africana Conference Centre early next month. The general manager, Paul Akivembe, said on Tuesday, “After three years of intensive construction, the multi-million hall is finally complete and ready for utilisation. We have invited His Excellency the President to officiate at its inauguration.”

CMF donates
COMMERCIAL Micro Finance (CMF) Bwaise Branch has given wheelbarrows, spades and rakes to Kalerwe market vendors in its campaign of clean up the market.
The cleaning exercise will last for seven days in the eight zones of Bivamuntuyo market in Kalwere, Solomon Banura, the branch manager, said.
