The Government should consider private schools when allocating Universal Primary Education (UPE) funds, Kampala City Council director of Education, Ann Galiwango, recently said during the second Annual Education Conference for Makindye Division at Kibuli Demonstration School.
She said Kampala has 83 government primary schools, 23 government secondary schools and 1,000 private schools. Galiwango said Kampala had many children in the private schools who were not benefitting from UPE grants. She appealed to teachers and parents to ensure they provided quality education.
