CLOCKING 12 years on the uncertain Ugandan entertainment scene is something worth celebrating. On Thursday, Kampala Casino marked 12 years since bouncing on the Ugandan social circuit.

CLOCKING 12 years on the uncertain Ugandan entertainment scene is something worth celebrating. On Thursday, Kampala Casino marked 12 years since bouncing on the Ugandan social circuit.

The casino owner, Bob Kabonero, with his cigar, moved around making sure his guests were having a nice time. The night brought together faces one hardly sees moving out like Patrick Bitature and NRM’s Moses Byaruhanga. Guests included Susan and Jim Muhwezi, Fountain Publishers’ James Tumusiime, Elvis Sekyanzi and Aga Sekalala (jr). Since they came as guests, singers Juliana and Ragga Dee didn’t perform, but Simba Sounds was there to entertain the guests some of whom commented that the anniversary lacked the usual sparkle seen at previous anniversaries.

Pearl Kantayomba, who replaced Crystal Newman as the casino’s publicist, was all smiles. Amarula Family’s Amooti was a turn off. Dressed in a lousy tracksuit and brown hiking boots, he looked like he was heading for a motor rally circuit and not the Casino’s anniversary.

As usual, John Senseko Kulubya and his gambling buddies had a blast, making money and losing it.
