PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has urged married couples to avoid being secretive in their relationships.
The President was on Saturday speaking at the wedding ceremony of Andrew Kisaka and Dianah Mwondha at St. Francis Chapel Makerere University in Kampala.
The bride is the daughter of Fred Mwondha and Lady Justice Faith Mwondha, the Inspector General of Government.
The groom is the son of John and Betty Kisaka.
The President said lack of openness between marrieds leads to mishandling of their relationship. He urged the youth to get married and discard the habit of being easily carried away by worldly enticements that tend to “over-delay marriage”.
He congratulated the families of the groom and the bride upon their children’s achievement.
He also commended the Church for making a revival in the population, saying it was completing government policy on combating HIV/AIDS that stood at a prevalence rate of 30% in 1986.
Museveni said the NRM government had spared no efforts in the fight against the scourge, adding that its relentless messages had cut down the rate to about 7%.
