MPS have attributed the increasing number of imported old vehicles to high taxes on new vehicles.
MPs on the finance committee said this while meeting Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) officials led by Allen Kagina, the commissioner general.
The legislators said URA should lower the taxes to discourage importation of used cars in the country.
Committee chairman, William Nsubuga, asked, Why can’t URA advise the Ministry of Finance and the taxes are revised?”
