City lawyer Erias Lukwago has asked the High Court to nullify the Mukono North parliamentary election results.
He argued that the poll was marred with numerous grave electoral offences.
Lukwago, who is also the Kampala Central MP, was making final submissions in an election petition in which Betty Nambooze is seeking to unseat the Rev. Peter Bakaluba Mukasa, accusing him and the Electoral Commission (EC) of committing electoral offences.
Submitting for the second consecutive day, Lukwago, who is assisted by Chrisestom Katumba, told Justice Stella Arach-Amoko on Saturday that from the evidence adduced by the petitioner and her agents in form of affidavits, which was not rebutted either by Bakaluba or the EC, the results should be nullified and a re-run ordered by court.
Lukwago said in some polling stations, declaration forms were prepared before counting was completed.
Nambooze petitioned the High Court, citing numerous electoral offences such as bribery by Bakaluba, disenfranchising the voters and non-compliance with the provisions of the Parliamentary Elections Act by the EC.
Ebert Byenkya represents Bakaluba, while Christine Kahwa is for the EC.
