NAKASEKE
The Police have arrested two men suspected of being in possession of a human skull. They removed the skull from a corpse of a dead relative, whose body they exhumed last week. Hamidou Baligeya and Zaidi Sennyonga were arrested from Bendegere village while they were allegedly trying to sell the skull to a witch doctor, only identified as Musisi. District Police commander Paul Nkore said on Tuesday the duo had been charged with trespass on burial grounds.

Man arrested
KAMPALA
A man claiming to be a Makerere University student was yesterday arrested over alleged possession of a gun. Dennis Lwegaba, who Police spokesman Edward Ochom said claimed to be a student of the Faculty of Law, was arrested after he was found in possession of an a SAR rifle with three bullets. The gun, the Police suspect, is the one which had earlier been robbed from a private security guard who was disarmed at Akamwesi hostel in Wandegeya.

Thugs attack
MUKONO
Armed thugs on Sunday evening attacked traders on Lake Victoria and robbed them of cash and valuables worth over sh20m. Victims said the thugs wore masks. District Police chief James Aurien said no arrests had been made.
 
Cop held
ADJUMANI
The in-charge of Ciforo Police post has been arrested with one of his subordinates over a gun that went missing. The northwestern regional CID chief, Joseph Obwona, said Sgt. Natal Leru was arrested on Monday to help with investigations into how SPC Felix Tiondi lost an SMG rifle with 30 bullets. He blamed the incident on negligence, but added that he could not rule out an outsider stealing the gun.

The southern region Inspector of Government has told chief administrative officers to halt payment of terminal benefits to civil servants pending investigations into corruption report. Wilfred Aryaija said some of the former civil servants were implicated in financial irregularities.
